The mission of College Life Planning (CLP) is to provide top quality innovative planning solutions that will demystify the admissions process and prepare students for admissions, the application process, essays, financial aid concerns and career development. We are dedicated to the individual student and helping him or her get to where they want to be. After 12 years of working with teens, and 3 years working in college admissions, we have seen what losing direction can do to a person. Through our independent advisors we can help by focusing students, organizing students, and preparing them for the college admissions process giving your student the direction and focus they need to be admitted into their top college.
At CLP we are working hard to help students navigate the many challenges in the admissions process. We start with the student's strengths, help the student create goals based on those strengths, and then we start the college selection process and the road to admission!
CLP consists of two advisors who focus on college admissions, specializing in Financial Aid and Academics. We work through a matrix of services and products such as personalized counseling sessions, detailed plans, MAPS Career Assessment, professional essay editors, Online College Admissions Workshops, and highly personalized college search tools. Through all of these things we have a passion for college counseling, young adults becoming who they were created to be, and the college experience.

Our Method
Our basic assumption is that, just as every student is unique, so is every learning challenge. Our methodology is to identify the precise need and goal of each individual student and provide a high-quality and innovative plan of action for college, and life beyond college. We know and understand that college is a means to an end, and properly planning for college sets a foundation for the future that improper planning for college cannot do.
Students and parents are often astonished at the rapid progress that is made following even a few sessions with College Life Planning advisers. This is because we don't tell students what to do, we help them uncover what they were made for and see the path to get there! We want to uncover the design of each individual student and form a pathway that is success to that student, leading to a life of happiness and fulfillment.

While counselors at most of the public colleges and universities are booked for months (if you can even get an appointment) and they simply do not have the time to spend with students like we do. According to a study conducted by the National Association for College Admission Counseling, the average student-counselor ratio in 2009 was 265-to-1 and grew as high as 618-to-1 in larger schools. How can one counselor correctly 'counsel' 300 students in a given year? According to the same survey a ratio of 100-to-1 is considered optimal; but we do better than that!
